Wale earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting in England, but he wished to expand his financial skills to include payroll services. Wale came to Canada through a government funded program under the Federal Skilled Worker Scheme. With the goal of starting a financial services company, Wale enrolled in the Professional Payroll certificate program offered through NAIT Continuing Education.
Wale has the drive to succeed, with style!
Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, Wale received a higher diploma in banking from a Nigerian polytechnic. He wished to explore new cultures and better opportunities by moving his family to the UK. During his time in England, he studied Finance and Business at Southampton Solent University and then went on to work for the prestigious financial institution J.P. Morgan.
Life was good until the financial crisis hit. Wale made a decision to leave J.P. Morgan and return to Nigeria where he continued his financial career. Still looking for a better standard of living for his family, he decided to come to Canada on a government-funded study permit.
After completing NAIT’s Professional Payroll program in February 2017, Wale feels empowered and better prepared for the workplace. The program not only focused on accounting and payroll, but provided Microsoft Office skills, stress management and practical hands-on education that set him up for more well-rounded success in business.
“The pundits say if you need life skills and a career, you go to NAIT. If you need just a job, you go elsewhere.”
As for his great fashion sense, Wale does his own shopping and attributes his style to his career in the financial industry. However, his wife does a great job of stopping his bad hair days before he steps out of the house.
