Course Overview
ArcGIS is a geographic information system for working with maps and geographic information. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to use ArcGIS to connect people, locations, and data using interactive maps.
Graduates of this course will be able to describe ArcMap, ArcToolbox and ArcCatalog. You will also be able to describe the main functionalities of ArcGIS from data loading and symbolizing, to simple and sophisticated GIS analysis, to feature presentation and map making. You will also be able to describe how to represent time in ArcMap, and how to construct a map book. You will be able to use geocoding and will use ArcGIS to solve real-world GIS problems.
Prior to enrolling in this course, it is recommended that you complete CCTG101 GIS Concepts and Application Types, or an equivalent course, or possess practical experience with the software.
