Wale has the drive to succeed, with style!
Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, Wale received a higher diploma in banking from a Nigerian polytechnic. Wanting to explore new cultures and better opportunities, he moved with his family to the U.K. During his time in England, he studied Finance and Business at Southampton Solent University. Wale then became a fund administrator with JP Morgan for 2 years, where he managed financial exchange traded derivatives for European and North American clients.
When the financial crisis hit, Wale made the decision to leave J.P. Morgan and return to Nigeria to take on the role as a public sector accounts manager for Skye Bank.
Still looking for a better standard of living, Wale had the opportunity to move his family to Canada under the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
Settling down in Edmonton, Wale gained employment as a customer service representative with TD Canada Trust. After a year at TD, he was fortunate to be one of 14 students to take the Payroll compliance certification under Alberta government funding.
After completing NAIT’s Payroll Professional program in February 2017, Wale feels empowered and better prepared for the workplace. The program not only focused on accounting and payroll, but provided Wale with Microsoft Office skills, stress management techniques and hands-on education that set him up for well-rounded success in business.
Wale is now working towards achieving his Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation and attends social and professional events to build his network.
