This first level of InDesign begins building the fundamentals of document layout. Students are introduced to the essential tools, skills, and document layout standards of the publishing industry.
Upon completion of Level I, students will have a strong understanding of the user-interface, specifically: workspaces, tools, panels, masterpages, layers, text flow, text-frame threading, text wrap, styles, and links. Level I explores document setup based on output requirements focusing on print media. The impact of document bleed, cmyk color, paper quality, document binding are discussed.
Students will develop a multi-page (4 to 6 pages) document to become familiar with the tools of the program and to troubleshoot common difficulties that arise.
Recommended: CCT0101 Windows Desktop Operating System or any other Windows operating system, and CCTD170 Typography.
