The flexible schedule options for this course including time of day and full/part-time.

  • On-Campus Day - Your course activity is done in-person Monday - Friday, before 5 PM.
  • On-Campus Evening/Weekend - Your course activity is done in-person on weekdays from 5 PM or later, or Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Online Day - Your course activity is done online Monday - Friday, before 5 PM.
  • Online Evening/Weekend - Your course activity is done online on weekdays from 5 PM or later, or Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Online Flexible Delivery - Your course activity is not scheduled and therefore you can determine when to do the coursework.
  • Both On-Campus and Virtual - Some of your coursework will be in-person, on campus and some will be done online.

The Health and Life Sciences Fundamentals certificate combines 5 relevant health courses that will help prepare you for the demands and rigours of a career in health sciences. Learn the major elements of the human body, gain skills in communicating effectively with patients and practice life-saving skills. Our courses may also provide you with entry-level information that could help you apply for jobs within a hospital.

This certificate explores the major elements of the human body. You will also learn how to communicate effectively with patients and be given the opportunity to practice life-saving First Aid and CPR skills. 

A Health and Life Sciences Fundamentals certificate will be granted upon completion of 5 courses (either CPRS500 or CPRS100 is required).

The 5 courses within this certificate will assist those pursuing a career in the healthcare field by providing general knowledge or prerequisites into NAIT full-time programs.
