Most organizations spend a lot of time defining what they believe in, setting long-term goals and planning to achieve those objectives through their vision, mission, and strategy. Ensuring the right people with the right competencies at the right time is key to realizing those plans. This is the time for strategic workforce development to focus on the competencies staff require and ways to measure their development as the competencies achieved are recorded. This program will introduce participants to the concepts and applications involved in the principles behind Strategic Workforce Development and how that development relies on building a robust Competence Management System (CMS).
There are many reasons that a company may implement a CMS such as
- compliance with regulatory Quality systems such as ISO 9001:2015 or API Q1
- to ensure full operational competence of staff a full and robust CMS puts structure around how to train employees
- measure staff progress and maintain compliance to satisfy standards and audits.
Strategic Workforce Development saves training costs by recognizing what an employee does well and helping them further develop competencies they need It also help put the minds of front-line managers, and customers, at ease when they know that personnel have been assessed as competent in their jobs.
This program will teach participants how to create and assess competence standards based on the role of the employees within their companies and how to break down the role to ensure that all Safety, Regulatory and Operational Requirements are met.
