Various aspects of the medical laboratory including disciplines, automation, use of computers and software and the laboratory's role in patient healthcare will be studied. Safe work practices, quality assurance features and the analytical principles of common clinical laboratory methods will also be examined. This course will provide the biomedical technologist with background knowledge to communicate with medical laboratory professionals.
