This course provides the knowledge, skills, and tools related to the area of Value Management (VM). Students will be introduced to the concept of VM along with a systematic approach to VM in construction projects, and will recognize its relationship to other disciplines. Course will cover the topics and tools related to functional analysis system techniques (FAST), need identification, creativity and data gathering techniques, ideation phase, evaluation and prioritization of ideas, and methodologies for idea selection. Students will be also introduced to team selection, and pre-planning and execution of VM workshops for construction projects.
