This course integrates various quality management concepts and standards and applies them to the different phases of the construction project from conception to operation and maintenance. Skills necessary for the construction project manager in planning quality management, measuring project and corporate quality improvement strategies, understanding scope of work, and analyzing project performance are presented. The implementation and coordination of specific safety plans and environmental management strategies from a quality management perspective are discussed. Theories of quality, total quality management, quality assurance and control, and value engineering steps are also introduced.
