This course provides the knowledge, skills and tools in the field of facilities management which includes how a facility and its equipment operate and are serviced and maintained to serve its occupants. Students will be introduced to an overview of the concepts and practical methods which facilities managers use to provide a comfortable and healthy environment in a safe and energy efficient manner. Topics include construction, and maintenance and repair of facilities supporting operation of physical structures through application of sustainable and energy efficient concepts. The course focuses on the efficient management of facilities, from concept to installation, and throughout its life cycle.
