This course provides an introduction to database management theory and practice. It explores the database environment, the database development process, and how this process fits into the broader context of information systems development. Students will be introduced to entity-relationship models, and how to convert a conceptual data model to a relational data model. The course also provides an introduction to Standard Query Language (SQL).
