Sustainability is a global concept that is implemented most often and most effectively at a local level. This balance between the global and the local provides numerous opportunities for robust innovative thinking about how to act in such a way as to imagine and manage development so as to ensure that the needs of all people are met fairly across generations. Working within the framework of a triple bottom line ethic, this course explores the concept of sustainability as it pertains to three primary domains: economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, and societal/cultural sustainability.
