This course focuses on decision-making within the frameworks of both domestic and global organization environments. The foundation for decision-making is the triple bottom line of economic, social, and environmental considerations, as well as issues in risk management. Decision theory and game theory are also introduced, along with business support tools from finance and accounting. Students in this course will learn to use a set of decision-making tools within a framework of balanced considerations. The practical adaptation of these tools to the assessment of choice and associated risk assures that the student can identify appropriate decision-making models as well as predict and analyze possible outcomes. Students will be able to, contribute to their organizations by synthesizing new compound models, adapting known systems to formulate optimal choices, and developing strategies aimed at managing risk.
