Students will learn patient assessment procedures in a clinical environment. Students will demonstrate professional conduct, patient communication and clinic/lab asepsis protocols. Clinical applications include oral assessment, preliminary impression making procedures, face-bow registration, tooth mobility testing and maintenance of the dental treatment record. In addition, students will practice the manipulation of final impression materials, registration materials and border molding for final impressions as well as producing and mounting casts using a face bow. Emphasis is placed on accuracy of documentation in accordance to legislation.
