Intermediate Laboratory Skills for Complete Dentures

  • Requisites: This course is available to students in the Denturist Technology program. Prerequisites: DENT1110, 1112, 1121, 1274A, IPCD1171. Co-requisites: DENT1202, 1210, 1220, 1274B. A completion grade of C- in all prerequisite courses is required to enroll.

Students will develop additional techniques required for complete denture fabrication. The arranging of various tooth forms to achieve balanced occlusion will be practiced. Standard procedures such as denture repairs, fabrication of registration devices, and processing/finishing of acrylic resin dentures are major course components. Students will utilize final impressions from patient cases to make master casts. Students will develop an understanding of maxillomandibular relationships.
