This course will introduce students to the concept of colour as a variable design element that influences all compositional activity. Students will develop an industry-standard understanding of basic colour theory and vocabulary. An introduction to colour usage in art and design history will provide context for colour palette development. Students will develop fluency using colour as a visual language, including the implementation of colour psychology and symbology techniques. The topics covered in this course are of particular importance to any student in a visual design-focused concentration.
