This course will build upon the foundational database skills taught in DMIT1508 and will explore database programming using the most popular relational database in the world – Oracle. Students will utilise Oracle’s procedural language (PL/SQL) to develop modular, efficient, and maintainable database functions, procedures, packages, and triggers to solve complex business data problems. The students will also construct business application(s) using Oracle Forms, which is Oracle’s user interface to access an Oracle Database in an efficient and tightly coupled manner. While Oracle Forms may be a mature application development technology, it remains widely used by many organizations in Alberta and around the world.
