This student will become familiar with the skills and attributes required in the field of medical administration. This course will include an overview of methods for ensuring quality patient care, effective interpersonal communication skills, teamwork, office procedures, and physician office systems. The diverse needs of healthcare clients will be explored. A basic knowledge of the role of the health information team with a focus on the management of healthcare information including privacy, confidentiality, and security will be provided. The student will use the above knowledge and skills in a virtual workplace with a focus on demonstrating professional conduct.
