This course is a continuation of MICB1206 and MICB1306 with increased emphasis on correlating cellular and colonial morphology of microbes to guide workup and testing to identify pathogenic microbes from a variety of body sites. Theory and practice of antimicrobial susceptibility testing will be explored. Manual and automated laboratory testing exercises will provide practical experience and enhance theory.
