Computed Tomography (CT) imaging has become an important diagnostic tool in medical imaging and the CT technologist is now essential to quality patient outcomes in medical imaging. Students learning environments include both lecture and laboratory settings. During the course, students evaluate CT procedures of the head, spine, extremities, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Students are introduced to a variety of interventional CT procedures. Students examine cross-sectional images, identifying skeletal structures, soft tissues with and without contrast enhancement. Students learn to recognize pathologies requiring immediate interventions.
