Information is critical to business survival. With information almost entirely moved through computer networks, this course provides students with a fundamental introduction to networking, its impact on business and ways to manage efficient networks. The course will also cover network configuration and standards, an introduction to cloud computing and an evaluation of its social and privacy issues. Students will become familiar with the most common networking technologies through the use of practical real world business examples including the setup of small office, home office, and personal networks. The relationship between efficient computer networks and business productivity will be explored.
