This course introduces students to the history, philosophies, and frameworks of quality control and management. Students develop the ability to understand, apply, analyze, synthesize and critically evaluate fundamental models and methodologies for quality assurance and assessment while formulating strategies to implement a quality management system. Topics covered in the course also emphasize standardized quality management systems, business excellence models, quality control, improvement and auditing tools and techniques, and statistical thinking.
