Emergency first responders, public works organizations and companies with large vehicle fleets or numerous field staff rely on land mobile radio systems for communication with users in vehicles (mobiles) and on foot (portables). This course introduces the Wireless Systems Engineering Technologist to the applications and capabilities of land mobile communication systems, propagation modeling, and impairments of a narrowband wireless channel. Students perform frequency planning, system design, configuration, and testing of land mobile communication systems.
