Wireless access is often an extension of the existing wireline network and thus part of the larger telecommunications infrastructure. Approached from the perspective of both a traditional wired telecommunications service provider as well as from that of a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP), this course introduces the student to the wireline network, multiplexing techniques, wired to wireless interfacing, traffic analysis, last mile technologies, and the backhaul requirements of a communication network.
