Bequests

How it works

Adding NAIT as a beneficiary of your will can make a big difference to our students, research and promise to Alberta. Remembering NAIT in your will is not only generous, it’s surprisingly simple.

Just as you can add family members and loved ones to your will, you can add charitable organizations like NAIT as beneficiary. By making a bequest to NAIT, your estate will receive a tax receipt for the full value of your gift that can lower, or even eliminate, estate taxes.

Making your donation

Your gift to NAIT can include cash, securities, retirement funds, real estate or other property. If you’re considering a bequest, we’d love to discuss how you would like your gift to be used, and the goals you hope to help us achieve. From there, we recommend you speak to a lawyer about drafting or revisiting your will, or adding a codicil that explains or modifies a particular part of the will.

David Lazaruk

“I decided to leave a gift to NAIT, because of my father—it’s a legacy. It will last forever.”

—David Lazaruk
