Robin Leech Memorial Scholarship

February 1, 1937 - June 17, 2016

Robin Leech (ASPB #014), biologist, had a passion for engaging youth and the scientific community.  He was an advocate for biology even as a teenager, but especially since 1956 as an educator, professional biologist, researcher, explorer and mentor to peoples of all ages. His pursuit of knowledge and interests in education made him an impassioned and outspoken globe-trotting scientist who was greatly respected in his field.

One of Robin’s greatest contributions to the biological world was his ability to influence people to be a part of his web, and to engage in discussions in a truly transparent manner that ensured knowledge was clear and available.

Robin’s love of writing moved him to publish many peer reviewed articles (150), letters to the editor, and a special book that has PUNished many of us.

This scholarship fund is to celebrate his life as a keener. His wish was that the scholarship should be bestowed on similar-minded, keen individuals.
