What is your favourite place on campus?
The spot that I find most inspiring is our Centre for Advanced Medical Simulation in CAT. This space demonstrates the power of hands-on learning, where students can practice real-world scenarios through simulation and interactive learning.

What is your favourite/most inspiring quote?
“Those who think they can and those who think they can't are both right."
This quote helps me remember that we always have a choice in what mindset we adopt. We can be optimistic or pessimistic – the choice is up to us.

Is there anything people would be surprised to learn about you?
I still play hockey with the same group of friends I met shortly after university. Many players have come and gone over the years but the core group has stayed together for over 25 years.

The Vice-President Administration and CFO manages the financial and administrative services of the institute. He has oversight responsibilities for:

  • Facilities Management and Development
  • General Counsel Services

The Vice-President Administration and CFO provides support to the Board of Governors’ committees on Finance, Audit, Campus Development, and Governance. He is also the treasurer of the NAIT Foundation.

Dr. Ray Block joined NAIT’s executive as Vice-President Administration & Chief Financial Officer in April 2011, following more than two decades in leadership.
