This week, NAIT and the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) are getting back to the bargaining table, with the assistance of a mediator. We are hopeful that we will engage in bargaining sessions throughout the week.
NAIT is pleased to resume bargaining following the strike vote by NASA members last week. The outcome of the strike vote has now been certified by the Alberta Labour Relations Board.
NAIT remains focused on doing our utmost to support student success and minimizing disruption to teaching, learning, and core operations. We are optimistic that we can avoid potential job action. We are eager to reach a fair and sustainable agreement that respects our academic staff, while ensuring a positive learning experience for students.
At this time, NASA has not served strike notice to NAIT. NAIT remains fully operational. Classes and student learning continue as scheduled.
We recognize that the ongoing situation creates uncertainty. NAIT will continue to share the latest updates on this website. NAIT will communicate directly with students via their nait.ca email to update them on progress.
