More than 40 students receive $40,000 in scholarship from ProCura Real Estate Services

EDMONTON – Students in five NAIT programs have won a total of more than $40,000 in scholarships as part of a competition to re-design an office building near main campus.

ProCura Real Estate Services sponsored the competition, which saw teams of students from Architectural Technology, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Alternative Energy and Marketing develop and present designs to turn the Kingsway Professional Centre into a multi-family housing and retail development.

The students worked on the extra-curricular project over 18 months, presenting their final designs to a panel of judges from ProCura and NAIT last week. Each of the participating students receives a $500 honorarium. Each student on the winning interdisciplinary team, as well as the top student from each program, receives a $2,000 scholarship. Students in NAIT’s Promotional Campaign Planning course were eligible to compete for a $1,000 scholarship.

Award winners are: Vincent Tam, Ryan Kim, Brittany Jordon, Francia Lau Keng Lun, Katelynn McKenna, Alleissa Cayanan, Christian Brown, Hazel Sarmiento, Daniel Wong, Kiriana Musselman, Lani van der Goot, Dao Vo and Kamyar Pooyeh. Enrico Celiz won the Best Promotional Campaign scholarship.
