The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) has been recognized as one of Alberta's Top Employers for the seventh consecutive year
Alberta’s Top Employers is an annual competition that recognizes 70 employers that offer exceptional places to work. The workplaces are not ranked in any particular order. NAIT has been named a top employer every year since 2012.
The judges offered a number of reasons for selecting NAIT, including:
- Participation in Pride Week to celebrate inclusivity as well as the diversity of its staff and student population
- Top-up of maternity leave payments for employees (up to 95% of salary for up to 16 weeks)
- Flexible work options
NAIT was also recognized for its promotion of health and well-being among employees, offering health and wellness spending accounts, along with wellness sessions on topics such as healthy eating, relationships and mindfulness.
Dr. Glenn Feltham, NAIT president and CEO
“At NAIT, people matter. We support our staff through providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive workplace. We also encourage our staff to lead healthy, active lives and provide a variety of monthly wellness sessions to help our staff in all aspects of their lives."
Clayton Davis, executive director, NAIT Human Resources
