Bicycle services

Biking to NAIT is convenient! We provide many services to help cyclists commute to our campuses and store their bikes safely.

Bike parking

Bikes/Scooters can be parked at designated racks at all campuses and don’t require permits.

Bikes/Scooters cannot be stored:

  • inside NAIT buildings
  • on landscaped areas
  • locked to NAIT buildings or posts

Bike lockers

At Main Campus, students can rent dedicated bike storage lockers for $12 per month plus a $45 refundable key deposit.
(The fee guarantees that the locker is always available to the person who requests it.)

We have thirteen lockers on campus that can each hold two bicycles in separate compartments at once.

To reserve your locker, bring your one AT NAIT card and payment in-person to the Parking Services office.

Bike compounds

On Main Campus, NAIT has one secure compound for bike storage located in Zone E. This area is locked and fenced. In addition, there is a designated bike rack space in the CAT Underground.

To access the bike compound Zone E or the CAT Underground:

When using the compound, always:

  • lock the gate when leaving the compound.
  • lock your bike to the rack within the compound.

Tune-up stations

Tune-up stations, equipped with air pumps and tools for basic repairs, are available at Souch and Main campuses.

Bike lock program

Always lock-up your bike using a u-lock. If you are a student, you can sign-out a temporary u-lock from
Protective Services in D Building on Main Campus. Bring photo ID and one AT NAIT card to temporarily sign out a lock.

Bike Index

NAIT Protective Services and the Edmonton Police Service are working with Bike Index to help deter bike theft from the moment you purchase your bicycle. Through the Bike Index, your bike can be returned to you as soon as possible if it's stolen or lost and identified.

Bike Index is a free, web-based platform where you can register your bike with a smartphone or desktop computer. Visit Bike Index  to create your account and register your bike.

For assistance registering your bike and getting a tracking sticker, visit Protective Services in D Building or contact at 780.471.7477 or protectiveservices@nait.ca.
