Posting Policies

NAIT Career Connect is the online platform that connects employers with NAIT students, alumni, and apprentices. It is the system for submitting job postings and applying for various events.

In order to submit an open position, employers must comply with all applicable legislation and standards, including the Alberta Human Rights Act. Additionally, all job postings must meet the requirements below, in order to be approved and visible to NAIT talent.

1. General Requirements

   1. All required fields must be completed, including but not limited to, compensation, job location, and a detailed description.

   2. All roles must include a guaranteed minimum wage in accordance with Alberta standards.

   3. Positions must be relevant to the selected program(s). Part-time roles (less than 20 hours per week) may be approved for general or soft skill development categories.

   4. Employers must clearly identify their organization. Anonymous postings will not be approved. Third-party recruiters must disclose their client’s organization name and location, if this information is missing, it will not be approved.

2. Sales, Commission-Based, and Franchise Roles

   Fully commission-based positions are not permitted. All sales, commission-based, or franchise postings must include:

   1. Clear description of duties and expectations

   2. Compensation structure, including how earnings are calculated

   3. Distinction between guaranteed pay, which is required, and potential earnings

   4. Required training details, including duration and any costs

   5. Any start-up or out-of-pocket costs

   6. Any contractual obligations or financial penalties

3. Private Home-Based Roles

   Postings from private individuals must include:

   1. Name of the person, contact information, and location of employment

   2. Duties and expectations

   3. Compensation

4. International Opportunities

   Positions that will be conducted outside of Canada need to be discussed with the NAIT Employer Services team, please reach out via email employerservices@nait.ca.

5. Volunteer Positions

   Volunteer opportunities are not accepted. Please consider submitting these to the NAIT Students’ Association, NAITSA Volunteers - NAIT Students' Association,  who can navigate next steps for you with volunteer posting boards and advertisement to clubs.
