Course Overview
Manage your projects by implementing the advanced features of Microsoft Project, a PC-based project management software. With the skills you gain in this course you will be able to increase the efficiency of your projects by using many of the advanced MS Project tools.
Building on your existing MS Project competencies, upon successful completion of this course you will be able to create master projects and use shared resource sheets which will allow you to see over-allocation issues between projects. You will be able to apply high-level skills to keep projects organized and on target including being able to create custom groups, filters, fields, tables, single and combination views, and reports. Through the use of Import/Export maps you will discover how to import data from Excel into MS Project and how to export data from MS Project to Excel.
Describe how to have custom items you create available to you in all your projects. Use macros to automate some of your work. The Timeline view will provide excellent overviews of your projects in a simple, easy to use format; creating templates will save you a lot of time when creating new projects. You will also be able to work with some of the other views, including the network diagram view. These skills will allow you to use the software to ensure quality control, a clear focus, and realistic project planning.
It is recommended that you successfully complete CCTB109, Microsoft Project Level I, or have equivalent skills before enrolling in this course.
