Course Overview

This course explores the essential functions of Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) in modern organizations. As digital transformation accelerates, non-technical professionals must be equipped to engage with the systems that drive data governance and AI innovation. Examine how IT infrastructure and enterprise systems support data quality, access, and security. Clarify your understanding of cloud technologies, cybersecurity principles, and enterprise architecture to better contribute to cross-functional conversations. Assess how foundational technologies—like databases, networks, and cloud environments—enable AI tools and integrated analytics. Strengthen your ability to interpret the strategic role of IT and IS in organizational performance. With the skills gained in this course, you will be able to articulate the components and value of IT and IS in support of responsible, scalable, data-driven decision-making.
