Course Overview
Use a Local Area Network (LAN) to design, document, troubleshoot, and monitor IT networks. Designing and building a secure LAN, along with an 802.11 wireless network, is essential for modern network management. Using the virtual network environment that you configured in the Network and Security Fundamentals course (CCTM104), you will create a network topology with VLANs and monitor the network traffic. Additionally, you will discuss network design and planning, and develop IP layouts for multiple connected networks. Implement TCP/IP IPv6 addressing, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and Network Address Translation (NAT). Explore techniques for network documentation and backup of data and device configurations. Apply troubleshooting strategies and resolve network issues to ensure availability. Discover the impact of additional network services and devices on performance. With the skills gained in this course, you will be able to design and plan secure local area and 802.11 wireless networks effectively. Prior to enrolling in this course, it is recommended that you complete CCTM104 Network Security Fundamentals or an equivalent course or have related practical experience.
