Course Overview

The Raspberry Pi is an affordable single-board computer you will use to develop practical applications for the Internet of Things (IOT) and the Internet of Everything (IOE). Utilizing the Raspberry Pi’s onboard General Purpose, Input/Output (GPIO), and the Python programming language, you will write programs to gather sensor data (temperature, pressure, humidity), store that data in a local SQLite data base, and present the real time and historical sensor data to a remote Web browser based Human Machine Interface (HMI). You will create web browser document object model (DOM) buttons, sliders, tachometer style data display readouts, and lights, as part of the remote browser HMI. When depressed, the browser buttons will initiate program sequences that will present the real time sensor data to the tachometer style data display readouts, and the historical sensor data graphically.
