Course Overview

This course introduces you to the core language features and Application Programming Interfaces (API) you will use to design object-oriented applications with the Java Standard Edition 8 (Java SE 8) Platform. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to create Java technology applications with the latest Java Development Kit (JDK) technology.

The JDK is a key platform component for building Java applications. Graduates of this course will be able to develop object-oriented programming, identify good practices in the use of the language to create robust Java applications, and use Lambda expressions in Java applications. You will also be able to store and manipulate data using collections, manipulate files, directories, and file systems, connect to databases using standard SQL queries through JDBC, and create high-performance multi-threaded applications.

The target audience for this course is technical administrators, team leaders, web administrators, application developers, system administrators, project managers, developers, and technical consultants. Prior to enrolling in this course, it is recommended that you successfully complete CCTP108 Oracle Java SE 8 Fundamentals or have equivalent skills and experience.
