Course Overview

Discover the realities of the Alberta Government Authorization that allows non-electricians to change ballasts and fixture ends. Through hands-on instruction and theoretical background, you will learn the details of what non-electricians are allowed and not allowed to perform. Specifically, ELTR110 certification does not include:

  • Retrofitting or the changing of circuitry in existing luminaires
  • The installation of new fixtures
  • Replacing ballasts or sockets in or on premises, buildings, or parts thereof
    where there exists the hazard of fire or explosion according to the current
    amended electrical codes and standards adopted by regulation under the
    Alberta Safety Codes Act

    Prerequisite: Building Operator B Certificate or Fifth Class Power Engineering Certificate.
