Gain practical and theoretical experience through this two-day Backpack Electrofishing Fundamentals course. Explore the theory and concepts of electrical safety during the first day. On the second day, develop your crew member and crew leader skills to operate a backpack electrofishing unit. Examine electrofishing best practices and electrofishing policy.
With the skills that you gain in this course, you will be able to practice all the roles assigned to a backpack electrofishing crew member: shocker, netter, and processor.
This course is compliant with the WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OHSR) 19.41(a) and is acceptable to the Workers Compensation Board of British Columbia for training in electrofishing operation.
Recommended Prerequisites: First Aid, CPR with AED, Fish Identification
