Patients have different eye care needs for different situations. Some might use an occupational lens for worksites and a separate pair of bifocals or progressive lenses for reading a great book. Use the eyeglass manufacturing skills you gain in this course to make eyeglasses that will satisfy whatever visual needs your patients may have.
Great opticians know their tools and instruments inside out. Determine how to use and read measurements from optical instruments like pupilometers, lens meters, and calipers to make sure your patients’ lenses work correctly. Identify infection control practices for tools and instruments to keep your equipment clean, safe to use, and in top working condition.
Candidate must be a licensed optician or a graduate of an Opticianry program.
