Contact lenses are a popular eye care solution for patients with visual problems such as astigmatism, nearsightedness, and farsightedness. Modern contacts are easy and comfortable to wear and correct most vision problems.
As an optician, you know how challenging it can be to customize contact lenses to meet the visual needs of your patients. Apply the knowledge you gain in this course to analyze your patients’ visual needs, create customized rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses, and demonstrate proper lens care and maintenance. Review the history of lens materials and the benefits of using gas permeable lenses. Identify techniques for lens fitting and determine follow-up procedures to track a patient’s long-term progress.
Candidate must be a licensed optician or graduate of an Opticianry program.
