NAIT is excited to announce the launch of its new course in Backpack Electrofishing Fundamentals. This course is designed to provide participants with knowledge of electrofishing policy with respect to fish injuries and electrofishing best practices.

The Backpack Electrofishing Fundamentals course will apply both theoretical and practical experience over two days. This will include a one-day portion of intensive classroom training that addresses the theory, concepts, identification, electrical safety and equipment setting for safe and efficient electrofishing sessions.

The second day will include a hands-on, applied, practical session focused on operation of a backpack electrofishing crew. This will enhance the skills discussed in the classroom session and allow participants to practice all roles assigned to a backpack electrofishing crew: shocker, netter and processor.
