Which NAIT Cybersecurity program is the right fit for you?

NAIT offers two cybersecurity programs. Each program provides incredible learning opportunities and both are optimal for the working professional looking to move into the cybersecurity field.

Cybersecurity Certificate 

Continuing Education

This certificate is perfect for someone who would like to challenge the Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) and Certified Cloud Security Practitioner (CISSP) exams and get their designation.

  • Designed to offer flexible scheduling opportunities. You have the option to earn your certificate in as quickly as 12 weeks or as long you’d like. Most students complete the certificate through evening and weekend classes. 

  • Comprised of 8 cybersecurity courses. Each 14-hour course can be completed over a weekend. 

  • Requires some Cybersecurity base knowledge prior to taking the program.

There is no official application process to earn your certificate. All you need to do is register and pay online to secure your seat.  Examine the upcoming course schedule and select Add to Cart to begin the process.

Cybersecurity Post-Diploma Certificate

School of Applied Sciences and Technology

This certificate is perfect for someone who already has an IT-related background and wants to expand their knowledge and skills in the operational and management aspects of cybersecurity through hands-on learning.

  • Designed to be completed in 1 year, but you have flexibility to complete the program in a longer time frame through part-time studies. All courses take place in the evenings to allow students to maintain their employment while studying.

  • Comprised of 10 cybersecurity courses (30 credits). Each course is completed over a 4-month semester.

  • Requires students to have an IT-related diploma, degree, or have completed 60 credits in related post-secondary courses to be accepted into the program.

You can apply online for this program through Apply Alberta to secure your seat. We recommend you apply early as our programs can fill up quickly! There is a  fall start date for the Cybersecurity certificate.
