Join NAIT Career Services for our virtual Job Talk every Tuesday from 12  to  1 p.m. and Wednesday from 3  to  4 p.m.

During Job Talk, our career advisors will provide helpful information to support you with your job search and career development. You'll have an opportunity to connect with other NAIT students and alumni, to learn and to reflect on your career journey and to ask your most pressing questions about your job search and future career.

Job Talk sessions are open to current NAIT students and alumni. A different topic will be covered each week, and you can view more information about upcoming sessions below. If you have suggestions for a future topic, you can submit your ideas here.

No experience conundrum

Tuesday, Jan. 18 I 12 to 1 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 19 I 3 to 4 p.m.

"How am I supposed to find a job when I don't have any related experience?" If this is something you're stressed about, know that you're not alone. This is a common concern that students have, and during this session, our advisors will discuss how you can get a job even if your directly related experience is minimal.

Interviews can be tricky! However, proper preparation can help you become more confident and ace that interview. If you’re wondering how to prepare for an interview, join this Job Talk. Our advisors will discuss common interview questions, like “Tell me about yourself?” or “What are your weaknesses?” and approaches to answering them.

Employers will often give you the chance to ask questions at the end of an interview. This is when you have the opportunity to flip the interview and ask a few questions yourself. But what kind of questions should you be asking? What questions can demonstrate how informed you are about the company? What questions may help you make the best decision about accepting the position if offered?
