NAIT Work-Integrated Learning Project Chosen as One of 13 BHER-CEWIL Grant Initiative Recipients

Published on August 27, 2021

[Edmonton, Alberta] – NAIT is excited to announce that their new work-integrated learning (WIL) project has been chosen as one of 13 projects funded by the Business + Higher Education Roundtable (BHER), with generous support from the Government of Canada. The initiative is the result of a collaboration between BHER and Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning (CEWIL) Canada.

NAIT, the City of St Albert and the St Albert & District Chamber of Commerce are working closely together to promote work-integrated learning opportunities within St Albert businesses. The program’s goal is to create strong partnerships over a one year period that can continue long past the BHER funding.  Currently, there are students working through the St Albert region with more planning to start in September and in January 2022. Jobs range from Accounting to Marketing to Human Resources.  Subsidies from the government also mean that companies can have up to 75% of the student’s salary covered.

Business are still able to participate in NAIT’s BHER-CEWIL WIL program.  For more info, contact busexperience@nait.ca.

Quotes:

“It’s a win-win-win. NAIT benefits because we find additional opportunities for our students.  St Albert businesses get access to rising talent while the City is able to attract and recruit younger professionals to live and work in the area.”
