Industry Engagement

At the School of Energy and Natural Resources, we pride ourselves on our strong connections to industry. Our programs are designed to provide students with hands-on, practical experience that aligns with current industry standards, preparing our graduates to become the next generation of industry innovators.

Our industry connections also provide students with invaluable opportunities including co-op placements, collaborative projects and access to scholarships and endowments. At NAIT, we recognize the pivotal role our students will play in shaping our province's sustainable future.

Our commitment to Alberta is unwavering: we aim to cultivate talent that drives economic prosperity through sustainable practices, supports technological advancements in renewable energy and contributes to resilient communities. Join us as we work towards a sustainable future together.

Industry Consultation

Each year, our programs are reviewed by members of our program advisory councils (PACs) to ensure students are learning everything they need to be successful in the workforce. Topics discussed include program curriculum and desired outcomes, new industry innovations and challenges and program needs such as equipment, work-integrated learning participants and field trip opportunities.

The education we provide includes training with industry-standard tools and equipment, field trips and labs that provide hands-on learning, and work-integrated learning experiences that puts student learning to the test.

Hiring Our Students

Many of our programs include the option for students to apply professional skills and theoretical understanding in a workplace setting through work-integrated learning experiences. In turn, you get well-trained employees for a designated period of time with the potential to bring them back after graduation. It is a great way to provide students work-related opportunities while also seeing what they can offer your company.
