Former NAIT cook apprentice to pay-it-forward by inspiring the next generation of chef

Blair Lebsack, a NAIT graduate (Apprenticeship Cook ‘00) , forged a distinguished culinary career from The Owl’s Nest to executive chef roles in Calgary, Banff, and Edmonton. Additionally, Chef Blair took on a role mentoring future chefs as a culinary instructor at NAIT from 2010-2013.

As co-owner and chef of RGE RD and The Butchery by RGE RD, he crafted an untamed dining experience, connecting with Alberta's unique culinary landscape through extravagant farm dinners on rural range roads. Recognized as the fourth-best new restaurant in Canada in 2014, RGE RD earned Chef Blair accolades, including a spot among Alberta's Fifty Most Influential People.

The restaurant's continuous evolution, commitment to outstanding food and hospitality, and global recognition in publications showcase Blair's vision of a terroir-driven gem.
