NAIT Assessment Services is open Monday to Friday with two testing times of 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Services for NAIT students
NAIT Assessment Services personnel specialize in scheduling and invigilating deferral (please email assessmentcentre@nait.ca for form and booking assistance), conflict, distance and other NAIT assessments. Current NAIT students must work with their program area(s) to schedule their assessment(s) in L142.
Deferred Exams
These exams are designed to assist students who experience extenuating circumstances that prohibit them from writing the exam in the classroom on the original date. Should your deferral be approved, a fee of $75.00 + GST per incident, will be applied to your student tuition account for payment. To start the deferral process, simply click the Book your Deferred Exam button below and complete the requested form.

Placement testing
Placement testing can help you fulfill the Grade 10 English entrance requirement for admission into Academic Upgrading and can also be used to place you into Academic Upgrading courses for which you cannot prove prerequisites.
Placement tests are available for Math, English and Chemistry. A placement test for the NAIT English as a Second Language (ESL) program is also available.
Distance Assessment requests
Submit a Power Engineering Distance Assessment Request
Who is eligible to request Distance Assessment: NAIT student who lives more than 100 km from NAIT's Main campus in Edmonton.
There is no cost for Distance Assessment request, however students are responsible for any fees that may be charged by the invigilation site. NAIT Assessment Services has compiled a list of approved invigilation sites that can proctor assessments for NAIT students.
Submit a JRSSB Distance Assessment Request
This form is intended for students enrolled in JR Shaw School of Business programs who reside more than 100 km from NAIT's Main Campus in Edmonton and require distance assessment arrangements for midterm or final examinations.
Domestic Students:
Students are responsible for contacting an approved domestic invigilation site, booking their assessment appointment, and paying any applicable fees charged by the site.
To ensure timely processing, this form must be submitted at least 14 business days prior to the scheduled assessment date.
Important:
Before submitting this form, you must first arrange an appointment with an approved domestic invigilation site. Only requests arranged through approved invigilation sites will be processed.
International Students:
Students requiring an international invigilation site should email the Assessment Centre with their request. Our team will assist you with the process and provide further instructions by email.
Eligibility:
Students taking on-campus courses are not eligible for Distance Assessment, regardless of their listed address. Eligibility is verified using the address provided by the student. Students are responsible for keeping their address up to date if it changes.
