Alberta Sustainable Resource - Mobile Office Initiative Award - Winter
Available to students in the second year of the Biological Sciences Technology- Environmental Monitoring and Assessment program at NAIT. Awarded on the basis of academic achievement and an aptitude for innovative problem solving and application associated with natural resource management.
Donald Hildebrandt Memorial Scholarship - Fall
Donald Hildebrandt graduated from the Forest and Resource Management program at NAIT in 1976. He worked as a Fisheries Technician/Biologist for Fish and Wildlife in Edson for 36 years and was well known for his wonderful sense of humor and his dedication to his work. As a biologist, Don returned to NAIT to engage students in fisheries field work, to talk to students about his career in fisheries and to share the finer details of fish aging techniques. Don was an inspiration to NAIT biology students who were just beginning careers in wildlife and fisheries; his contagious humor and enthusiasm encouraged students to pursue their dreams of working as technicians or biologists. Don passed away suddenly on March 28, 2015 at the age of 59 years.
Available to second year students of the Biological Sciences Technology - Conservation Biology program at NAIT. Awarded on the basis of academic achievement in the first year of the program and demonstrates enthusiasm and leadership in fish habitat restoration initiatives.
Enbridge Northern Student Entrance Award
Available to students from North Eastern Alberta, Yukon Territory, the Northwest Territories or Nunavut. Awarded to applicants who demonstrate financial need and who have been accepted into a program related to the energy sector. Preference will be given to students of indigenous ancestry who are able to speak their cultural language, and whose intent is to return to and work in the North.
NAIT Biological Sciences Technology Alumni Association - Dwayne Ouart Memorial Scholarship - Fall
Available to a second year student enrolled in Biological Sciences. Awarded on the basic of satisfactory academic achievement. Consideration will also be given to a student who is involved in sports, willingness to assist others and all round personal development.
NAIT Biological Sciences Technology Alumni Association - Jim Tutt Memorial Scholarship - Fall
Available to a second year student enrolled in Biological Sciences who has achieved a high academic standing based on first year of studies. Consideration will also be given based on the student's technical skills, class participation and leadership qualities.
NorQuest College - Dave Hoy Achievement Award
Available to a NorQuest College student entering the first year of a Business or Technical program as a full-time student, and who have completed their studies with NorQuest College within the last three years. Awarded on the basis of the highest mark in two combined subjects as follows: if applying to a Technical program the subjects are Math and Science: if applying to a Business program the subjects are Math and English.
The Engineering Technology Scholarship Foundation of Alberta (ETSFA) - Clayton Milroy Memorial Scholarship
The Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) is proud to promote technical education throughout Alberta and through the Engineering Technology Scholarship Foundation (ETSFA)- an organization founded by ASET past presidents.
Available to second year students enrolled in an Engineering, Information or Applied Science Technology program leading to certification with ASET. Awarded on the basis of high academic standing (top 10%), and students who demonstrate strong leadership aptitude through participation in school or community activities. Students must be a member of ASET.
The Right Honourable Don Mazankowski Award of Excellence in Biological Sciences - Fall
Available to second year students enrolled in either the Biological Sciences Technology - Environmental Sciences, Laboratory and Research, or Renewable Resources program. Awarded on the basis of academic achievement, community involvement and demonstrated leadership skills.
George & Sherry Elder Renewable Resources Bursary
George Elder was an instructor at NAIT from 1968-1972 in the Biological Sciences program. He was one of the founding instructors for this program and helped to create the relevant and practical training that focused on opportunities for employment in the Renewable Resources field that NAIT still values. During this tenure at NAIT, George worked summers in Banff which provided him the opportunity to work on the first Grizzly Bear Management program within the park under the direction of the Canadian Wildlife Service. This summer employment created opportunities to establish field trips in cooperation with the National Parks as part of the Renewable Resource Curriculum.
Available to students enrolled in the second year of the Biological Sciences - Renewable Resources stream at NAIT. Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and a minimum academic achievement of 75% in the program.
Women in Technology & Trades Engineering Bursary
Available to female students at NAIT who are enrolled in the second year of the following programs: Alternative Energy Technology, Architectural Technology, Bachelor of Technology, Biological Sciences Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology, Chemical Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, Geological Technology, Geomatics Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Engineering Technology, Landscape Architectural Technology, Materials Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Nanotechnology Systems, Petroleum Engineering Technology, Power Engineering 4th Class, Power Engineering Technology, Water and Wastewater Technician. Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need. Applicants must have achieved a satisfactory academic standing in the previous year.
Bob and Wendy Hiew Bursary
Bob and Wendy Hiew are both NAIT graduates from the Electrical Engineering and Accounting programs. Bob and Wendy have established this bursary in order to support students who are experiencing financial difficulties so they can devote their time to their studies in order to embark on a good career.
Available to a second year student enrolled in any full time credit program in either the JR Shaw School of Business, or the School of Applied Sciences and Technology at NAIT. Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and a minimum academic achievement of 75% in the first year of their program at NAIT.
