From computer and web design to baking and cooking camps, NAIT is the place for kids and teens this summer. Our vibrant four and five-day camps help improve fitness, explore art, science and technology, develop new skills, stay active and have fun!

Campers as young as five and up to 17 years old will participate in hands-on activities in the areas of athletics, culinary arts, web design, video production, computer game design, leadership, theatre and more.

Summer camps registration opens on Sunday, February 23 at 12:01 a.m.

Frequently asked questions

What are the summer camp hours?

Most camps run 8:30am-4:00pm with a couple of exceptions:

  • Badminton and Volleyball/Basketball Combo - 9:00am-4:00pm
  • Hockey camps - 9:00am-5:00pm

Do you offer early drop off/late pick up service?

Yes. You can drop your child off 15 minutes prior camp starting and pick them up 15 minutes after the end of the day for no additional cost.

We also offer and early drop off starting at 7:30am ($17/week) and an after camp pick up until 5pm ($17/week). A reduced rate of $30/week is offered for both.

What is the ratio of leaders to participants?

Most camps use the following ratios:

  • 1:8 –   Mini Ook camps
  • 1:12 – Computer Camps, Art Attack, G-Force, Fun Fitness, Sport Olympics
  • 1:15 – Rad camp, Multi Sport, Youth in Design, Street Performers, Junior Chefs, Junior Bakers

Do parents/guardians need to sign in and out their kids?

Yes. For security reasons, parents/guardians are required to sign their child in and out each day.

Do the Jr. Chefs or Jr. Baker participants cook each day?

No. Participants are not in the cooking labs on Mondays as the chefs are busy preparing for the week on this day. From Tuesday to Friday, participants will be in the labs for half the day (either in the morning or afternoon). The other half of the day will be spent doing a variety of indoor and outdoor recreation activities.

Are Web, Gaming and Animation participants in the computer labs all day?

No. Participants will be in the labs developing their projects for half of the day (either in the morning or afternoon). The other half of the day will be spent doing a variety of indoor and outdoor recreation activities.

Do camp leaders have first aid training and a criminal record check done?

Yes. All camp leaders are trained in first aid and have completed a criminal record check before they begin their work with us.

Do you offer a lunch service?

Yes. We offer a hot lunch service at a rate of $45+gst/week per participant.

Please note: Lunches are included in all Total Hockey Development camp registration fees. A lunch break is held daily in the Centre for Applied Technology and will be supervised by summer camp staff.

Where can I park to drop off/pick up my child?

Please park in the F Lot (just north of Princess Elizabeth Avenue). A map will be emailed upon registration. If you plan on staying longer than 15 minutes, you are asked to pay for parking.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation Policy

All cancellation requests must be received in writing via email at recreation@nait.ca and are subject to the following conditions:

  • Cancellations received more than five working days prior to the start of each camp/program will be refunded the registration fee less a $25 administrative fee.
  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than five working days prior to the start of each camp/program.
  • Any illness or injury prior to camp will be refunded the registration fee less a $25 administrative fee.
  • Full refund will be issued for medical reasons with a written doctor’s note.
  • No exceptions or refunds will be made for no-shows.

Do I have to sign a waiver?

Yes. All participants are required to have the waiver completed by a parent/guardian. All medical information should be included on this form. Completed waivers can be sent to recreation@nait.ca or handed in the first day of the camp.
